Revlon - Pink Pout

Hi Everyone!

Hope your all well! I thought I would share my first Revlon Lipstick purchase with you! I have had it for a wee while now and I have to say I am impressed! First off I love the packaging, very sleek indeed.

I do not own another colour like this at all as I tend to wear deeper colours. I find it looks best when I have a bit of a tan and loved it when I teamed it with my blue velvet dress for a night out, The two worked very well together!
I am yet to be brave enough to wear it during the day as I have been leaving my skin it's natural colour lately and do not want to look too washed out but I cannot wait until summer when I am sure I will get full use of this lippie!

Do you have any Revlon Lipstick recommendations? I would definitely like to try out more!

MMMMacadamia Revival Curl Cream

Good Afternoon Lovelies,

A wee while ago I picked up Macadamia Natural Oil Reviving Curl Cream on Buyapowa. Now if you haven't heard of Buyapowa it's definitely worth looking at. It is a co-buying site where the more people who buy the product the cheaper it becomes (check out their site for more info).

I have been trying to wear my hair curly more often to help the damage I have from straightening and blowdrying all the time. My hair is naturally very curly and if I leave it to airdry after washing it my hair becomes a frizzy, curly fro! This means I need to put some sort of product on to tame it!

I normally use John Freida Serum both when I leave my hair to dry naturally or if I am blowdrying it and I love it! But I wanted something that would better define my curls.

I really like the packaging of it but the only problem is the pump on my one doesnt work :( I must have just got a faulty one but I can live with it)

The product itself is quite a thick cream which smells of melons! It's lovely!! The first time I used this I didn't like it at all. I felt it left my hair quite crispy and sticky however after several uses I have figured out I was using far too much! A little bit really does go a long way and it really does define my curls and makes them less frizzy.

My friend who doesn't have curly hair also recently tried it on her hair and has since went and bought it herself!

So if like me you have naturally frizzy curls I would definitely recommend giving it ago. As I said I bought mine from Buyapowa a little while ago but they quite regularly have Macadamia products on. Alternatively my friend picked it up on Amazon for £16.95. Cheapsmells and Feelunique also stock Macadamia products but at the minute I can't see the Curl Cream.

February Favourites

Hi Everyone!!

I am so sorry about the lack of posts lately! Like everyone things have been busy lately and are only going to get worse as I start to get in the thick of wedding planning! (only 7 months to go!)
I actually missed the boat on my January Favourites but they were pretty much the same as this month so we will get to it!

This months favourites include:

Urban Decay Naked2 - I have literally used this non-stop since I got it. There are actually a few shades I haven't even used yet so I clearly have favourites!

Rimmer Soft Kohl in Sable Brown - I wanted to get away from using black gel liner all the time and I was missing using a pencil! Lovely brown colour which gives a more subtle look than a harsh black.

17 Metallic Eyes in Wild Nude - After getting this I neglected it for a long time but recently redicovered it and I now have a new favourite eye combo which I will explain below!

Rimmel Stay Matte in Transclucent - I have had this for years but it has sat lonely for sometime. I have been finding my skin becoming more oily throughout the day and have been swapping my Mac MSF Natural for this instead and I have to say I am much prefering the results with this! Much cheaper as well!

Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light - Great value matt bronzer which I have been reaching for contouring with. I have also been using the highlighter as well which give a nice subtle glow

Mac Sheertone Blush in Peachykeen - My most reached for blush lately! Such a lovely colour pay off!

17 Mirrorshine Lipstick in Beehive - Very well known favourite! Another product I rediscovered after it has sat unused for sometime! I wear this during the day to give a lovely pale pink/nude lip. If you haven't tried this yet I highly recommend it!

Mac Lustering - A fairly recent purchase that I have been loving for a night out! I also really like the formulation of this!

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - I picked this up when it was on offer at cheapsmells.com (I think!) and I have to say I think I like it more than the VO5 miracle concentrate. It is quite thick so only a small amount is needed to smooth out dry hair and ends.

A quick mention of my new favourite eyeshadow combo which I have been putting on nearly everyday as it is so quick and simple! I use 17 Metallic eyes in Wild Nude all over the eyelids and I then dab 'Tease' from the Naked to pallette over the top. I blend this out and then use the Rimmel Soft Kohl pencil along the lash line. Very simple indeed! I normally don't go for a one colour eyelid but I am really liking it at the moment!

What are your favourites this month?

A couple of Jemma Kidd Products

Good Afternoon Everyone,

As I was away over the festive period I didn't manage to go shopping during the sales, however I did manage to have a browse online! (I love online shopping!!) I picked up several things including a couple of Jemma Kidd products.

First was the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme 10g in Iced Gold. Now this has been raved about a lot lately in the blogging world and I was curious to try it out (even more so at a discounted price!) I have never really been one for highlighters before but this one is actually really nice!

I really love the look of the packaging although the one thing I really don't like is the fact it gets grubby very quickly due to it being that ruberised texture (as you can see above)

It is such a lovely creamy texture and gives a lovely subtle glow. I normally use my fingers for this but was thinking of trying perhaps a stipling brush with it. I would love to hear how everyone applys highlighter and whether you have any tips??

I also got Jemma Kidd Blushwear Creme Cheek Colour 3.4g in Guava. This is actually my first every cream blush! I have always found them a bit daunting but thought this looked like such a beautiful shade and completely different from any other blush I own.

The colour is extremely intense and only the tiniest amount is needed to give a flush of colour (too much and I end up looking like a clown!) I find the easiest way to apply it is with my Elf Powder brush. Lightly tapping it onto the pan once and dabbing it on the cheeks.
Has anyone else got any Jemma Kidd Products? I know the Jemma Kidd foundation is constantly raved about!

NOTD

Hey Guys,

Bit of a random one from me as I haven't done a nail of the day before as my nails are normally looking awful!! I actually used a a nail varnish that I received in a Feel Unique Beauty Box and so I thought I would show it.

I used this tiny sample of Nails Inc in Oxford Circus and I then used Rimmels Matte Finish which I LOVE! It can really change the look of your nail varnish!

This is with two coats of the Nails Inc and one coat of the Rimmel Matte Finish. It is a real Barbie pink colour and is actual a tad brighter than it has turned out in the photos. Not a look I normally go for but I actually really like it!

FeelUnique Beauty Box - February (and last ever box!)

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately  I received an email today from Feel Unique explaining that they are "closing Beauty Box indefintely as of this month"

I am really disappointed that this is the case as I did enjoy receiving their boxes and enjoyed trying out new products. I am unsure whether I will sign up to any other beauty boxes as this was the one that I was immediately drawn. In the long run I guess it will save me some money. (Although I was enjoying collecting the boxes for storage!)

I did swither, after receiving this email, whether to post about this months box however some of you may still be interested in what was received so here we go....

This months box was based on "Fall in Love"

"Give yourself some pamper time by priming your skin and body ahead of that big date with the exotic zest of Elemis Lime & Ginger Body Wash followed by Nuxe's infamous multi-tasking dry oil. Get the perfect glow with Decleor's at home face peel and give your hair the attention it's been craving with Philip Kingsley's cult treatment. Finally, start a love affair with uber-cool Leighton Denny long-lasting nail varnish for a picture perfect finish."

Decleor Phytopeel Face Peel Cream 15ml (Fullsize 50ml is £23.40) "A soft cream formula which exfoliates and smoothes the epidermis. It gently absorbs and eliminates impurities, and does not contain exfoliating particles, the gentlest and most natural way to renew your skin." I actually quite like the smell of this and I am quite a fan of using masks etc a couple of times a week (when I have time!)

Leighton Denny High Performance Colour 4.6ml (Fullsize 12ml is £11) This is in the shade Diamond Rose which a pearly/shiny soft pink colour. I am not the biggest fan of iridescent shades and would have much preferred a 'fuller' colour although I might try this out as a top coat.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil 10ml (Fullsize 50ml is £17) 'Huile Prodigieuse is a dry oil with a unique superactivated formula combining 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair in a single gesture' I have never used oils anywhere but my hair but I am looking forward to using this! Especially as it can be used for so many things!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 40ml (Fullsize 150ml is £22.30) 'Intensive, super-moisturizing pre-shampoo treatment for all hair types. Adds elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine' I was SUPER happy to find this in the box and is the product I am most excited about trying! It has been in other beauty boxes before and people said such positive things!

Jean Paul Gaultier Kokorico Eau De Toilette Spray 1ml (Fullsize 100ml is £45.90)  This was obviously just an added extra within the box, which I can live with however it is for men! Nonetheless I do actually like the smell of this so I shall be passing it onto my Fiance!

Elemis Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash 100ml (Fullsize 300ml is £18.40) This is actually a decent sample size! The fragrance isn't one that I am particularly fond of but I don't dislike it either. I will probably use this as a hand wash rather than on my body.

I was actually very happy with this months box as I will use every item in it and so it makes me a little sad that this is the last one :(

What's everyone else's favourite Beauty Box?

Sigma Brushes

Afternoon Everyone!

I ordered some Sigma brushes during their 'Black Friday' promotion, at the end of November, where they were doing free international shipping. Now I know this seems like ages ago now (which is was!) but they took ages to arrive and I didn't get them until I came back from my holiday. Anyway enough of my rambling and onto the brushes!

The first brush I bought was the Tapered Blending Brush - E40 ($11) I find it perfect for blending/buffing in concealer. I previously always just used my finger but this brush gives a much better finish. It also works well for for blending colour on the eyes! I have to mention that I have had some fall-out/shedding with this brush but by that I mean only a couple of bristles, nothing major!

Next up is the Large Angled Contour - F40 ($14) and I have to say I LOVE THIS BRUSH! So soft and for me it is perfect for contouring with my bronzer. I previously used an Elf Complexion Brush however this was just a bit too big for my face and added more product than I wanted.

Last but certainly not least is the Small Contour - F05 ($14) Which has a soft rounded dome which I find perfect for applying blush to the apples of my cheeks. I think this may be my favourite out of the three!

Plus they threw in this travel Blending - E25 for free as I spent over $30.

There are a couple more brushes I wish I had bought during that promotion however these were the three I really wanted and on that day there was sooo many problems with the website and too much traffic!! In total my purchases came to $39 which worked out at £26.03! Which is brilliant considering the high quality of the brushes. I honestly cannot recommend Sigma Brushes enough!

You can find them here but a selection is also available at uk site love-makeup.
