Ok so I thought I would start out with a one of my new favourite discoveries! My skin can break out fairly easily and this is particularly the case if I wear heavy/full foundation for long periods of time. I previously used the Collection 2000 Perfecting Minerals which was brilliant for everyday use and at a price tag of about a fiver I had no complaints. So naturally I was devastated when I found out it had been discontinued! I then went through a spell of trying the Collection 2000 Ultimate Fix which is a 3-in-one foundation, powder and concealer. Unfortunately I just could not grow to like it which I think mainly had to do with the texture and the way it looked on my face.
I really wanted a mineral foundation for everyday use and after hearing some good things about Bare Minerals I thought I would give it a try..... and I am so glad I did!! I decided to purchase their Bare Escentuals Get Started Kit in Medium (also available in light & tan). Included in this set is:
- 2 x Bare Escentuals SPF15 Foundation 2g - Medium & Medium Beige
- Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil 2g
- BONUS: Bare Escentuals Summer Bisque SPF20 Multi-Tasking Concealer 1.2g
- Bare Escentuals All Over Face Colour Warmth 2g
- Bare Escentuals Full Flawless Face Brush
- Bare Escentuals Flawless Application Face Brush
- Bare Escentuals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
- Bare Escentuals Get Started DVD
(I also received a small sample of their Prime Time foundation primer which I am yet to try.)
The pack includes a sample of Medium which is for medium skin with pink undertones and Medium Beige which is for skin with neutral undertones. I feel I could get away with wearing either however Medium Beige gives a warmer tone which I much prefer.

Top: Medium Beige, Bottom: Medium |
One thing I particularly love is the fact this can be built up to give you the coverage you desire. It is a really creamy consistency which feels nice and natural on the skin. Not only is it light-weight but it also good for your skin!
Bare Escentuals directs you to put the product on as follows:
Swirl…
a small amount of bareMinerals into the lid with the Flawless Application Brush (for lighter coverage) or the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush (for more coverage) until the bareMinerals are tucked into the bristles.
Tap…
off excess. bareMinerals should not be visible on the outside of the brush.
Buff…
bareMinerals onto the skin in a swirling, circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbones. Then, buff around your face, working your way to the cheeks, forehead, and nose. Buff until you're satisfied with the coverage. Less is more when applying bareMinerals.

The bareMinerals Warmth looks very dark in the pot however a little bit goes a long way to give a nice all over glow. Although the Mineral Veil looks very pale, when swept all over the skin it blends in for a translucent finish which fixes the make up in place leaving a natural glowing finish.
And so I would definitely recommend this if you want something a bit lighter to wear but still gives a good coverage and particularly if your skin is prone to breakouts which can persist with the use of a heavy foundation.
I would love to hear how others have got on with this product :)

HEy can I be super nosy and ask what counter you got your starter kit from? Its amazing value isn't it? Seems like a lot to spend in one go, but you get soo much in the kit.
