Sigma Brushes

Afternoon Everyone!

I ordered some Sigma brushes during their 'Black Friday' promotion, at the end of November, where they were doing free international shipping. Now I know this seems like ages ago now (which is was!) but they took ages to arrive and I didn't get them until I came back from my holiday. Anyway enough of my rambling and onto the brushes!

The first brush I bought was the Tapered Blending Brush - E40 ($11) I find it perfect for blending/buffing in concealer. I previously always just used my finger but this brush gives a much better finish. It also works well for for blending colour on the eyes! I have to mention that I have had some fall-out/shedding with this brush but by that I mean only a couple of bristles, nothing major!

Next up is the Large Angled Contour - F40 ($14) and I have to say I LOVE THIS BRUSH! So soft and for me it is perfect for contouring with my bronzer. I previously used an Elf Complexion Brush however this was just a bit too big for my face and added more product than I wanted.

Last but certainly not least is the Small Contour - F05 ($14) Which has a soft rounded dome which I find perfect for applying blush to the apples of my cheeks. I think this may be my favourite out of the three!

Plus they threw in this travel Blending - E25 for free as I spent over $30.

There are a couple more brushes I wish I had bought during that promotion however these were the three I really wanted and on that day there was sooo many problems with the website and too much traffic!! In total my purchases came to $39 which worked out at £26.03! Which is brilliant considering the high quality of the brushes. I honestly cannot recommend Sigma Brushes enough!

You can find them here but a selection is also available at uk site love-makeup.

The Body Shop - Camomile Gentle Eye Make-up Remover

Hey Guys! I thought I would do a wee review on the current eye make-up remover I am using. I previously just used to use make-up wipes to remove all my make up and then use my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish ( I know this also removes make up but I hate getting the muslin cloth clarted in foundation etc) As I sometimes wear quite a bit of eye make up sometimes a wipe is just not enough!

I wanted something quite soothing and so the first place I thought to go was the Body Shop where I picked up their Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover (250ml for £8)

The Body Shop describe it as follow:

This non-oily cleanser removes make-up in seconds and conditions lashes and lids.
  • Gently removes eye make-up
  • Leaves lashes and lids clean
  • Light and soothing
  • Fragrance and colour-free

When I first got this I was surprised that it was a clear water-like product (I expected a slightly thicker consistency I think) I place some on a cotton pad and wipe the eyes. Now this is very good at removing the make up however it does sometimes take a couple of pads as it smudges the make up around the eyes rather than 'eat it up' The first time I used it I think I was a little too generous with the solution and boy did it sting! I find it does still sting my eyes slightly (I think I am used to it now) which I was surprised at, due to the name really! However it is definitely not greasy in the slightest, nor does it dry out the eye area.

At the moment I do not think I would repurchase this when it is finished (I have another product to try which I will review when I have finished this one up) Thats not to say it doesn't do exactly what it is supposed to, I just don't enjoy the slight sting of the eye I get when using it.

A little Missguided

Hi Everyone!

I went onto the Missguided website during the sale in the hope that the things I had had my eye on for a while were included in it. Alas, they were not :( and so I bought them anyway!

First off I got the Vivien Leather Contrast Dress (£24.99) The dress comes in various colours on the bottom half and I kind of wish I had went for the one with the cream skirt although I do love the wine colour and it is different from anything I already own. It fits very well and is actually very flattering.

The second item I got was the Gail Scallop Edge Velvet Top in Red (£10.99). I actually don't own many dressy tops as I normally wear dresses on nights out etc and so I though this would look really good with a bodycon skirt or a pair of shorts.

I was really good and just stuck to these two items although Missguided have so many things I would like to buy!

Christmas Money + Duty Free = Some new Mac Lipsticks!

Hi Everyone!

So as you can see from the title I got money for Christmas and as I was flying off on the 27th I thought I would pick up some lippies! I already had a few that I was wanting to check out when I got there however, I didn't have much time so looking through the names wasn't an option! I instead swatched several that I was drawn to (also resulting in my jacket getting some extra decoration!) and ended up with these two:

Modesty

I had never came across or heard of Modesty before but I am so glad I have now! It is described as a muted neutral pink. Perfect if you prefer a more nude type lipstick with a little more dusty pink in it. It has been my go to lipstick for a bit of colour during the day.

Lustering

I was first drawn to Lustering due to it beautiful vibrant colour. It is not quite as scary as it looks though and can be built up to create a bolder colour on the lips. I wore it on Saturday night and although it did need reapplied several times it was such a lovely bright rosy pink colour which isn't too bold and overpowering. It is great if you don't want anything too heavy and prefer a glossy moisturising finish.

The Wonders of Barry M - Touch of Magic

Hey Guys!!

I thought I would do a post on this little beauty that I have had for sooo long! My friend originlly showed me this lipstick and I was initially taken aback by it being green!!! BUT this is a green that goes PINK!!

Touch of Magic - Lip Paint
Apologies for the stock photo but as you will see mine doesn't look that great anymore!

Barry M says "A waterproof formula with added Aloe Vera stays on for up to 8 hours. Depending on the alkali level of your lips, determines just how pale or rich the colour will go"

On myself this comes out a lovely bright pink colour however, as mentioned, it  can come out differently on everybody. The great thing about this lipstick is it's staying power! After a night out I wake up and you can still see traces of it on my lips and this is only after an initial application and perhaps a top up. Definitely a lipstick worth having in your collection!

Available from Barry M for £4.49

Has anyone else tried this lipstick?

Feel Unique Beauty Box - January

Hello!

First off I want to apologise for the slightly shoddy/lesser quality photos which are to follow as I have left my usual camera at my Fiance's parents house and I am not sure when I will see them to get it back :-( and so I had to use my crappy camera to show you the contents of this months Feel Unique Beauty Box.

This Month the products were based on "New Year, New You" :

This month we concentrate on 'starting over'  by providing you with all the tools you need to get through the year ahead.  Bring back your natural glow with essential skin brushing,  followed by a nourishing & enriching body treatment to soften and tone tired limbs. Get an instant radiant lift with your new cleansing and mousturising routine and top off by restoring you hair's natural suppleness and shine with the perfect colour treatment - they'll keep you glowing from top to toe....

The contents included the following:

First off we have Lierac Coherence L.IR Infrared Lifting Cream 15ml. (50ml full size is £56.55) Now I have never used any anti-aging creams as I have never felt the need! However after recently turning 24 perhaps its something I should get started in before it's too late haha. "Featuring combination of collagen III accelerating vectors and micronised tourmaline crystals, Lierac Coherence L.IR Infrared Lifting Cream produces a virtual "face-resculpting" effect. Skin looks visibly "lifted" and regains optimum firmness."  Not something I am overjoyed about receiving however it is the most expensive item in the box.

Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion 30ml (400ml full size is £21.50)  A nice smelling body lotion which apparently 'encourages micro-circulation and helps prevent premature skin aging' and also claims to help prevent stretchmarks during pregnancy. Fair doos as I don't actually have that many travel size body lotions so I will get the use of it.

Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner 20ml(full size 150ml £10.20) Does what it says on the tube really.

Green People Gentle Cleanse 10ml (full size is 200ml is £15.25) I have actually already used this and I LOVE it!! I used it to remove my eye make up with a cotton pad, which did feel a bit strange as it is a fairly thick consistency however it did it no problem and did not sting my eyes at all!

2 x Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing sachets 50g each (500g fullsize is £12.25) I like to be able to feel the bits when I use an exfoliator and so I am really looking forward to trying this! It recommends using a small amount on dry skin then showering off. I will let you know how i get on.

Overall I am fairly pleased with this months box (except for the anti-ageing cream although it could be a good wee gift for my mum lol) . I like the fact they are things that I wouldn't normally buy and already I think I may end up purchasing a full size of the Green People Gentle Cleanse!

As previously mentioned the Feel Unique Beauty Box is available for a monthly subscription of £9.95 which includes P&P.

Did anyone else receive this month's box?

MUA Haul

Hello Everyone!!I had planned to put the post up before Christmas but time just slipped away!

So anyway when I was supposed to be buying presents for other people I was putting in the odd online order for myself! I had seen a few posts on the MUA Immaculate Pallette and thought it looked great and when I went on to buy it they were still giving it away free if you spent more than £8 (any excuse to buy more).
MUA are a great budget make-up brand with most items coming in at only £1! I think the dearest is £8! They have recently opened an online store which is great if,like me, your Superdrug store has a really limited range.

This is actually by second purchase of this product. It's the only eye primer I have ever tried and it works brilliantly!

I am admittedly not the best at putting on eyeliner (normally as I am half asleep in the morning!) and so I thought I would give a pen tip liner a try. At the beginning I thought it was a really black eyeliner and would be great however since first application it doesn't appear as striking, almost as if it's drying out already. I will give it a few more tries before I am certain but I do also want to try the Loreal Carbon Gloss.

I actually think the swatches/pictures on the MUA website do not give the best representation of the actual colour of the product. I bought shade 6 which actually looked more of a mauve/grey colour in the images but nope it's purple! Which I do actually still like despite not being what I was expecting.

I was originally drawn to the shimmery shades in this palette and there is definitely some really beautiful colours but also a few I don't think I will end up touching. I agree with a few other comments I have read about this palette that it all seems to be in a bit of random order and I think it may have been better to have colours more together. Not an issue just a preference really.

I haven't bought a gloss in a very long time and decided on the nude shade. It is a plumping lipgloss and so it has that effect that makes your lips tingle (which definitely brought me back to my younger years!) not the best feeling however it's bareable.

I LOVE this lipstick!! I have had my eye on Mac's Impassioned for a long time but have never taken the plunge. I thought this would make a good cheap alternative and I was right. It's just beautiful!! (the photo does not do this colour justice!)
Does anyone have any other MUA favourites?
